Reshaping it All - Day 29
Posted by Darlene Schacht, Co-author of Reshaping it All
Here's the thing... I stepped onto the scale this morning and I was nearly seven pounds down. Seven pounds! That's a lot for a five-foot-barely-nothing girl like me.
But you know what? It's been slow, incredibly slow. I realize that if I didn't promise you all these "65 Days" I probably would have folded like a cheap lawn chair weeks ago.
Isn't that what happens to all of us? We do so incredibly well with our eating and exercising, but if the scale doesn't change in four days--or worse, it goes up a pound--we throw in the towel.
I've had a few weeks like that and a few days. I was rejoicing because I was five pounds down one day and disappointed that it was only four pounds the next. (A night at the salt lick will do that to you.)
But slow and steady wins the race, doesn't it? For the most part. I've done so well. I've eaten lots of fruit and vegetables. I've also eaten things like Mexican food and pizza in moderation, and I've made wise choices at every turn.
Wise choices have included salads at the greasy spoon, but now that I've tried their salads I'm hooked. Dairy Delight makes the best Greek Salad I've ever tried! Had I not been reshaping it all, I would have just ordered a burger and fries and missed out on the great taste. We've also been making fruit smoothies. I was addicted to Tim Horton's Ice Cappuccinos, but now that I've learned to make these smoothies I have formed a new habit that I MUCH prefer.

I can definitely see how this is now becoming a lifestyle change--what started out as a commitment to you has turned into a blessing to me!! Go God!
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. ~ Galatians 6:9, (NIV)Just take one step at a time, ladies. If it's two steps forward, and one step back, you're still moving forward. Don't give up on your journey to Reshaping it All!!
