DVD workouts!

I was so excited to receive my Tracy Anderson Metamorphosis workout DVDs in the mail today. www.tracyandersonmethod.com  I've never met Tracy or done her workouts before but several girlfriends last week were raving about them. I took it as a sign to order ;)

Actually, I was debating whether to get the DVDs and work out at home or renew my gym membership and continue to use a personal trainer. I like both methods and changing it up works for me. Since I need to sign a new gym contract, I figured this was a good time to wait on that, and try the DVDs for a few months.  If I love them, it will only save me money in the long run. And if I don't, I'll pass them along to friends and go back to the gym. So, sorry for the last minute changes from what I told you I was going to do last week. But this could actually be more fun to blog about since we can do it together! Is anyone already doing Tracy Anderson's Method?

My friend Clare at www.peak313.com is a fitness guru! She posted an awesome article at my online magazine Roo that gives you the low down on how to get a personal trainer workout in the comfort of your own home. She shares her favorite FREE sites as well as top DVDs. Check out the article here: http://www.roomag.com/how-to-get-a-personal-trainer-workout-in-the-comfort-of-your-home/

Hopefully, I'll start these today! I actually had to go to a physical therapist yesterday because I'm experiencing some problems in my neck and back- which we think is all muscle related and not nervous system related. So, I've really been taking it easy and that's why I haven't been blogging about my workouts. They've been non-existent really except walking. But, i'm missing them and hoping to get back into it without too much pain.

I'm off to take those starting measurements. If Tracy is right, I'll be toning muscles I never knew I had and getting leaner than I ever knew was possible. ;) hehe

  1. Candace which version of Metamorphosis did you get? I can't decide between abcentric or omnicentric since I have a lot to lose!

    1. Me too Nikki! I thought I was Abcentric because I tend to gain weight in my stomach and have a "muffin top" haha but, after taking the online quiz it said I was Omnicentric. Now I'm all confused!

  2. I am using Valerie Bertinelli Losing It and Keeping Fit dvd. So I will be doing workouts from home but a different dvd.

I checked my weight again and I am up about 1 1/2 pounds; most likely from eating. I am eating healthy and am careful about my portions but it is dishearting. I did think of what you said about taking muscle over skinny and it somewhat helps. But I really need to lose 20 pounds (10 is my first goal) in order to not be overweight. Plus, I would fit into some of my other clothes again.

I guess I'll wait and see what happens in the long run. All the best.

    1. Hang in there!!...My prayer is that I will be consistent because in the long run, I feel that is what will pay off! I started putting a quarter in a jar when I make a good decision...either a healthy choice, or overcoming a temptation...sometimes for successes such as a wieght loss that week. Sometimes I even do $1 if I feel it was a great victory! I read that someone did something similar with dimes. It's encouraging to glance in that jar to see my successes...I cashed it in for vacation and started over with it this summer...It's building slowly, but building! :) (I have lost about 30 pounds...have about 50-60 to go.)

  4. I've actually done Tracy's metamorphosis series. It was fantastic - I noticed a difference about 2 weeks in to it. Unfortunately I had to stop the cardio dance part because it gave me shin splints from bouncing on the hard floor. However I recently purchased her trampoline and DVD and was actually planning to start that tomorrow! :) I love her stuff - though the food plan is a bit difficult to follow - one, because I'm a picky eater and two, because it's a lot of fresh veggies and blended stuff that I just don't have the time or money to make. Good luck with it Candace! I bet you'll love it! It's killer!

  8. I have been doing Jillian's 30 Day Shred! It is a great workout although I had to do level 1 for a while before moving up. I, too, am having some back pain and having it checked out next week. I hope it's nothing bad! So, lately I have just been running and walking. I can't wait to get back to it!
Keep us posted on how you like Tracy's DVD! Good luck!

  9. I just finished Pilates for abs (10 Minute Solution) with a 50 minute Zumba workout. (Becareful doing Zumba on carpet...I had a spill this morning!! :) LOL!) I have several 10 Minute Solution DVDs. You can pick and choose which workouts you want - 1 up to all 5 (10 minutes each)- whatever you have time for. My two favorites are "5 Day Get Fit Mix" and "Pilates". I also have "Dance It Off & Tone it Up!" and "Belly, Butt & Thigh Blasters". I love using DVDs in the comfort of my own home!
