In chapter fifteen, "A House Swept Clean," Candace talks about the difference between a moral transformation and a spiritual one.
There are many things in all of our lives that we handle in a moral way. We're raised to be moral and society would expect nothing less. But God calls us to also live spiritually, and to handle things in a spiritual way.
In other words, He wants an intimate relationship with us, which calls us to surrender every area of our lives.
Why do we strive to be healthy and fit? Is it merely to look good and feel great, or do you require more of yourself?
On page 184, Candace writes,
Why do we strive to be healthy and fit? Is it merely to look good and feel great, or do you require more of yourself?
On page 184, Candace writes,
I'm healthy because I want to be used by God to the best of my ability and as much as He'll allow me to be used. Health, fitness, and size act to glorify Him in my line of work. In my industry I need to stay in shape and be fit so I can get the types of roles I like and with those roles glorify Him. By doing that, I become a living testimony. With that thought in mind, ask yourself, "Why am I reshaping it all?"
Knowing that many of us desire a deep relationship with the Lord, I pray that we will strive to glorify Him in all that we do, including the way we approach health.

It is so true.... whenever I try to do anything, include lose weight, I fail if it is by my own strength...
ReplyDeleteThe Lord must be the center of our lives.
I am taking the steps to make sure God is 1st in my life! I was baptized 2 weeks ago and found a church to call home and I am in the process of getting connected. I am still having trouble focusing on my help but with God it has been a little different, I am able to get back on the wagon where as before I would jump fall and keep falling. I too, now, wish to be healthy and confident to find out what God wants for my life. God Bless!
