We're embarking on chapter two and day five of our 65 day challenge. If you're still with us then congratulate yourself because you are past the first three days!!!
There's something about three days, three weeks, and three months--each one is a mountain to climb, but when you get to the top you feel a sense of accomplishment and refreshment. Just think of a newborn, the first three months are tough, but once you get past that, both you and the baby are used to routine.
Someone asked me yesterday, "What do we do?"
The first thing you should do if you haven't already is map out a plan. What is it that YOU want to accomplish in these 65 days? Weight loss? Better health? A stronger relationship with the Lord? All three? Whatever it is that you plan to do--do it will all of your might.
Stop abusing yourself with food, start making healthier choices, and get serious with God. Move more, control your portions, make wise choices and keep God close by your side.
The second thing that YOU can do is get connected. We have inserted several networking tools here so you can meet and be encouraged by other women participating in the challenge. Tweet them, chat with them in the chat box, visit their blogs, or converse in the comments section. Getting connected helps to strengthen our resolve.
And pray. Make this journey different than any other you've been on in the past. Don't go at this on your own strength, learn to lean on Jesus.
For those of us hoping to lose weight, let's consider page 14. Candace says that diets usually fail for one of three reasons:
- No Pain No Gain. We choose to sprint instead of training for the long run.
- We're Spoiled. We try to change only the food that we eat instead of changing our mind-set.
- Lack of Conviction. We don't truly believe that the benefits are worth the effort it takes to get us there.
I was also asked if we were going to have daily challenges. We may have some, but for the most part we won't. The reason is that "Reshaping it All" is a motivational tool that can be used alongside any program that you are following. Therefore we won't attempt to put you into a box that works for us. We encourage you to choose a healthy plan that fits your lifestyle.
Will we have encouragement-? Yes! Will we provide inspiration? Absolutely! Will we offer motivation? You bet! But in order to make this change you must be willing to roll up your sleeves and feel the sting of discomfort.
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. ~ Hebrews 12:11
Don’t give up too quickly. Don’t quit too soon, lest you leave before the harvest comes in.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. ~ Galatians 6:9, NIV

Please see how the Lord used Candace's book to speak to me in a different way.

ReplyDeleteI got a call from my Mom this evening that my book's arrived!! Yay!! :) Sadly, I'm on campus and won't be at home in the next 3 weeks... I can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you, Story Girl. Maybe you can read the first chapter at Amazon. But if not, there will be so much to read here in the next three weeks anyway. It will keep you busy in the meantime!!
